How to do this?.How to do that?.People seems to forget that you can experiment whatever you want,release your imagination.Sometimes we need some help figuring out some constructions and new recipes.But the rest of the time is your game,your world and your mind.We all where newbies sometime and is always nice to learn things that you could not realise for yourself,new ideas,new ways.I made this thread to show the way I play this amazing game and probably you already know all this.If that's the case I invite you to share your techniques,constructions or experiences so newbies and experts who roams this forums don´t need to lost precious time surfing the net to find this information and we can all make a nice contribution to this newly born site.I was attracted here for only two reasons:One that competition catch my eye since I don´t own a copy of the game.And the other reason was that seems to be very few people in this forums so I have the opportunity to share more than in a super populated forum where nobody cares.I hope not to made a mistake and see others participation instead of trolling and ignorance,but is a forum and at some point that could happen.And is nice too see other people enjoy a game like this in a time where seems that graphics are all and the playability of the old days are lost.
Ok,lets start before you get tired of reading(talking about losing precious time...)

There's hundreds of YouTube videos where you can learn almost everything about this game,and the Minepedia is very complete too.So,if you are reading this,means that you are looking for new ways so lets share:


The basic are well know,but if you don't,know that everything in this game is about resources.Where to get them?Everywhere.Look around you.But it has his dangers.So,if you want to attempt surviving you are gonna need a shelter.
I don't know about you,but my first night was hell.Nobody says nothing about hiding,so after exploring a little i found that zombies are bad for health.That skeletons shoot without questions and spiders...well,they scream danger so I wasn´t fall for that.So I died.And by miracle I respawn nearly and miracly died faster this time.And so on the entire night.After a lot of screaming,punching and swearing I see the burning corpses of the undead and I learn that light equals safety.And so I start building.I made the regular dirt shelter

and start trying combinations of material.discover a H.o.e(stupid censorship) but no idea for what that is(I through it was a weapon).Y put some flowers here and there and walla!,my first house.The night came quickly and I run for refuge.Then I saw it.That green thing staring at me in the door.I went close and I dint know if was the nervous or what,but the dam thing open letting that giant di...monster enter and ssssss----BOOOOOOM.What the hell was that?It kill me?I go back to discover the ruins of my hard work.So,creepers are bad for business too.No wander why I kill everything that moves now(chicken are vicious).The war was started.So I made My base of operations.A litle sand castle(underground is huge)

Close to my spawn point(a must)made a little tower so I can´t get lost

Things grow after that.You keep adding buildings to your world until...forever or really get tired and start a new map(not me).Make your house,shelter,castle or wathever you like.There´s no a good or bad way.If you like it,get on it.The possibilities are endless.

The important thing is to have a shelter.Or maybe not.Lots of people play a nomad way of life,sleeping on trees and caves,etc.Play the way you like the most.As a tip:if you go to a deeper part in a lake or ocean,dig 3 blocks of the botom and put a block over your head.This way you can start digging without drowning and make space so you can wait the sunset(and monster don't spawn on water).Or you can take air by placing reeds or doors and many other ways.

Then you need materials.As a first rule,NEVER dig straight down.Why?caves,lava,dungeons,etc.Dig in a stair way.At first the best is search for caves because they have exposed veins of mineral but they are also very dangerous and you can get lost.Once I got tyred of died down there I start to make my own mines.

is safer and you can get tons of construction materials an minerals.
If you decide for caves,always take enought food and weapons with you(and torches).At first I used to eat bacon but it takes to much space and resources to make(coal).So I decided start my own farm.Bread is easy to make and you can carry in blocks of 64 wheat so,lots of bread.You can use bonemeal(made from bones)to instantly grow any wheat or tree(takes more attempts with those)but that method takes the funny of farming so if you want realism don't use bonemeal.You don't need to lay down to much water for the irrigation of the dirt.A simple block of water hydrates 4 block on all directions

Even a small farm can surrender enough weat for your adventures.(remember to use sneak so you don´t trample the wheat

The bamboo(sugar cane) stops the arrows thrown by skeletons and is easy to harvest too

For tree farms I tried lots of ways and the best(for Me)is this design(is a fusion under my factory surrounded by wheat and bamboo and a cactus farm on the roof)

You can chop all the wood and there collect the saplings on the middle,or you can make another canal there's but that´s up to you)

The saplings that fall on the bridge are collected by you when you go to replant the trees.

I like this because looks nice,is compact and renders a lot of saplings for replanting and making forests,and It produces everything there.Or you can make single canals between the trees(trees don't need water,just dirt and light)

Or even a very compact design(can be made more compact tan this but every time tree grow,blocks the next one so it can´t be left unattended).

You can help trees to grow at night (or underground)placing torches and if you want bigger trees do this(that forces him to make leaves higher)

If you want automatizing,only cactus and mobs can have automated production.The others give more work and no results(like pouring water on your crops for harvesting but doing that don't render seeds or taking water for sugar cane and you have to replant.).Reeds in a straight line works perfect and is very quick to gather.For automated cactus machine is super easy (cactus grow up to 3 blocks high and you cant plan them if there's a block next to him,so put a block next to him but two or tree blocks high and when he grow crash with that block and release the item that can be harvested by a water stream,easy do it than read it) see on you tube(I discover on my own how to make that and is incredible easy,just common sense in how minecraft works).


Then you have the mobs.There's a lot of traps you can make for harvesting is loot or for defense.I not going to enter in details(same with red stone that I'm suck with it);just going to show you my item factory(mob tower and production facilities for everything you can make.

When I was making the pyramid,trying to dig all that stone under drive me crazy.So I started thinking in a way to get tons of TNT(without cheating)and i start digging a giant room under it for making them spawn there (monster spawn on tthe dark)and killing with some trap.But I lost motivation really quick(the pyramid base is 128x128) and there I realize that it would be faster building the thing than excavate.So I came with the idea of a compact tower.For that time building that was a common practice but I wasn know that.At least I realize how to made it alone.Toke maybe 4 or 6 hours to make from level 0 of the ocean(actually is level 64) to 128(the sky)(put two blocks,two block,two block,jump,repeat)

For the floor i pour some water and wait until stop(7 block each side)them make a hole to the bottom where the trap is.
(Is hard to work there at night and during the day still some don't wanna leave)

And that wasn´t enough so I start digging under trying to reach bedrock.Two days later I finish the construction.700 items per hour.....I wanted more.But building another one...no way.I find a way for making a tower faster and make my little trap 3 times more bigger in just a few hours(well,only the tower without the floors.That took a lot more).So I make a frame

Can be done with just a bucket of lava and one of water without having to go down for a refill(but I use more)

,pour some lava,wait a sec,took the lava,pour some water,break the frame.
Instant wall(with defects but at least a lot faster).Everyone can make this very easy and have incredible amounts of loots(2700 in an hour).No cheats,no hacks,no bloody chunk 0.The collection room?Right under the trap.Why?I like watch them burn(I´m not bad)and don´t complicate trying to go 24 block away.Mobs still spawn on enormous amounts and in a few days of gaming you are gonna get tired and start to burn extra items.I don't use this tower anymore because I don't know what to do with so many items.And after the last update the drops just went up.But is a nice work.Make a normal tower(21x21)to the bottom and you never again will have to worry about lacks of TNT.

I know that mobs don't spawn on half block but that just the way I like it.There lot of mob tower on the Internet,but mine is prettier.

This thread is for all.I can´t explain everything but don't hesitate to ask for details.

Minecraft is a game that can let your imagination run wild.You can create almost anything in a infinite number of ways.This is just a resume of the things that are going on my world and some tips.Everything was made by my,alone in single survival.I play on normal and never peaceful(use a little on some pictures(so much for never...))and is all hand made.I don't even change the textures(love that minecraft feel).Wasn´t easy thread to make(take all day)so appreciate the hard work and I apologize if I misspelled something(english is not my language).I hope you enjoyed reading as I writing(I´m not much as a forum person).


Share your ideas,constructions,methods,tips for newbies or at least say thanks.(a picture doesn't hurt either).Don'T be a leecher.

Thank you for the reply:).140 views and none say something(dam leechers).I was starting to think that making this thread was a waste of time.
About the tower,is more simple than anyone think(remember to broke the frame after pouring water).Even if you made 3 floors in a day,when you finish you would be boring on collecting so many items.Before I made this,I was laughing every time I saw incinerators.Now i can´t live without them(and also works as a coblestone factory wich i dont need(I prefer making tunnels)).For the trap,make your favorite.I found this very effective:

It´s a 3 blocks canal ending in the collector(there some lava doing the hard work).And,in the back,you can see an imprescindible water ladder and brake(train station too for quick access)

And cactus for killing spiders(also have to update the canals down there with some cactus for anyone trying to climb his way out.

Oddly,farm animal keep showing up and ruining my crops.And of course squids rarely appear in the canals(still trying to figure out a way to harvest them).

The funny thing is that the hardest part is not getting the glass(that's why I make it in the desert),but digging under it.I can´t tell how many hours I spend digging that mountain bellow(my plan was making a grass field for hunting grounds and a giant mob trap bellow).Making the frame was also difficult because I suck with numbers so I have to rebuild it a few times when I reach the top and I was several blocks farter from the other corner.And I fell from it more times than I wanted(my spawn point is 1 day on foot but I have a minecart system to my tower over there).And also,some creepers blow a few holes in it.I kinda left behind this project because I get the idea for the item factory there so,I start other projects and kinda abandon this one but at some point I have to finish it(at least the exterior).

Thanks firefudge:).But I think nobody really understand what I wrote.Its not complete information for one reason,to allow people to SHARE and post pics and tips too.But a thanks isn't half bad.I hope more members like the idea and give data on how they play.
Still can´t complain(thanks MINECRAFTNEWS for the account:o)because I´m not much as a poster,but that's because is not easy for Me write in English(I use a online page to check my spell but is not that good)so takes Me time to write everything and check it later(time that usually spend playing.;)(What means btw???)

That's nice.You know you can reach bedrock before the first night?.Just make a hidden water ladder and you only going to need 1 sign or 1 ladder.The rest just pickaxes.There I use the same water(that can be taken without the need of a bucket if you just make a canal from the nearest water source)to make a water brake at the bottom so,there only one hole to the bottom for very quick access) and there you can start a tree farm and a wheat farm so you don't need to go up again.Later make a bucket and bring water to make and infinite pool and that's it.(some of that farm pictures are for my shafts).;)

This is the bottom.Usually I make 3x3 tunnels in 4 directions so I can start My branch mine but I make rooms there for the farms(and lava too).That sign support the water for the brake(that ladder requires only 1 bucket of water and one sign but sometimes I put 1 piece of ladder on top of the shaft for extra protection in case I fell).And I use the sign because if that where just a piece of ladder you can land on that and die but not with signs.

For the size of that tower at least 300-400 items or more per hour(My first one going to the bottom makes 700).Anyway is more than you're gonna need.I have a tower that looks like your lookout(but still is a secret;)).And that wheat tower...Are you planing to take over the wheat market??You probably gonna harvest one or twice before get bored.Really nice outrageous work.Hope you share more.:D
For wheat,I run some experiments and find the amount of light needed for wheat to grow.In the wiki says but here,this is more graphic:

Up to 4 blocks away from the light source,it grows.

Why I wasn't going to let you??Build if you like it;).I just read someone saying that pyramids are easy to make, but a glass one when creepers are running around is not.
And I wait for some pics or advices.
Anyways,do you know you can make a mob prison?There's many ways but I like this one:

Many cells 3x3 with a plate in the middle connected to a redstone torch outside(so you know when a mob is inside)
