Just a small idea

Hey guys! It's me, Hamnisu. I got this idea I haven't shared with anyone yet.

I don't know if this is the place to take it up. So admins, feel free to move it if this is the wrong place.

Anyway, here it comes: I think it would be cool to be able to repair your tools and/or armor. It would cost just a little bit less than creating a new tool, but still you would save some materials.

For example:
Put descended diamond axe and 2 pieces of diamond in work-bench => repaired diamond axe.

My thoughts about this: I am a little thorn between liking this and disliking this.
I like it because I hate to spend diamonds and hate to lose tools.
I don’t like it because it somehow destroys the purpose of collection lots of diamonds and other materials.

So what do you think guys?

i think this is not that viable because the durability bar is very imprecise to tell you when you need to repair your axe

I don't like it because it defeats the purpose of deterioration. This isn't wurm online where you can "fail" to create items and loose the items that make them, this is minecraft where crafting has a 100% success rate.
