Glitches: They're actually good for you

On the day before new years eve of 2010, Firefudge and I were exploring a cave. Minecraft wasn't being nice that day, and had crashed once before.
Minecraft decided that it didn't want to load some chunks, probably to annoy me. It's plan backfired, though, because what was on the other side of a missing part?

Diamonds! The glitch allowed me to find diamonds. But I couldn't get to them, as whenever I stepped over that edge or tried to mine the invisible stone infront of me, I would fall, then reappear on the edge. It's odd.
Also, Firefudge can fly

The chunk is actually there, it's just not being showed by the client. In fact, if you place blocks, they will be replaced on the client with the original blocks of the chunk. Then you can break those, and you'll be able to walk thru. Because the server wouldn't allow you to walk through walls.

Firefudge can't fly, he sees the chunk as he normally would. This happens all the time on SMP, just log back in and it'll be fixed. Of course, take the chance to spot any iron/diamond, and tunnel around the chunk to get 'em.

Cool :) And this is kinda lucky, because from all the digging in Moria we haven't not found 1 diamond -.-

I came to 4 more places the chunks hadn't loaded and ended up with 18 diamonds :D

Lucky! I've never seen diamond in a chunk error. :(

at the rate things are going, someone will find a chunk error, and the bottom will be filled with diamonds

ha, nice, when i heard "glitch" i thought on those hard to pull glitches in a first person game where u can get to unreachable places, i love those :)

i found a missing chunk in the big room in moria and 2 blocks under the floor 5 diamonds in a group. i got 13 from that missing chunk

Sorry.Taking Advantage of game errors for looks purpose(like making windows with cacty)is fine,but you must dig hard to FIND those diamonds or dungeons so,taking advantage of a glitch like this is cheating to Me.

lol i remember seeing diamonds through a chunk glitch in moria and i even know how to get to them yes i haven't and im not even sure i want to :P
