As almost none of you know, inside HG/SS there is a rare event item set referred to as the "Shiny leaf". Finding one is challenge enough! Once you do find one the pokemon that found it gets a little gold leaf icon in it's profile.

Heavens no! If finding one isn't hard enough, the REAL challenge is in finding all 5 for your pokemon! (You can do this infinite times, each pokemon you have can find 5 leaves).
So how does one tackle this challenging challenge? With knowledge my friends!
First off you will need to narrow down which routes your pokemons Shiny Leaf can appear on. The locations depends on your pokemons nature.

Once you know what routes to look in, it's time to get started!
How do I find them?
Not easily friend. First of all, the leafs may appear in ANY of the routes for your pokemons nature, in any order! To begin your search decide which route you are going to check first and head there. The pokemon you wish to find the leaves must be in the first slot, so it is following behind you.
Now, walk into a segment of grass (the type that wild pokemon appear in), turn and talk to your pokemon. Now, I have found out a little trick that makes this easier. The leaf is not in a particular spot on the route, just enter the grass, turn and talk to your pokemon. Repeat this process until you find a leaf.
Remember its possible for a route to NOT have a leaf, you need to find which one has it. Repeats are NOT possible! Also, you may be in the right area and still not get it. It's a luck game. I got mine in roughly 50 clicks in the correct route.
You will recognize the moment when the leaf is found. An exclamation mark will appear over your pokemons head, it will do a little dance, and a green music note will appear. You've found your first leaf!.
What now you say? Head to New Bark town and speak to Lyra or Ethan. They will tell you a brief story about the shiny leaf, and more importantly, make it possible to find four more!
What do I get out of all this?
Well besides rare swag that most people dont have (aka bragging rights), if you manage to get all 5 leaves you will receive a leaf crown and your trainer card goes up a rank!
